Arrived to find the gas riser supplying kitchen cook top was corroded and leaking. Walked property and found 4 other risers that are starting to rot and client would like to have them all replaced. Also found the 75gal nat. gas water heater is leaking and needs to be replaced. Advised client of options and he elected to have the gas piping fixed now and stated he will be back in town in 2 weeks and will address the water heater. *Excavate are around gas supply to kitchen, bbq, and pool heater, and meter to expose and replace compromised gas risers. When excavating to expose the riser supplying water heater found it goes under concrete pad for a/c and we are unable to replace without moving a/c unit. Advised client of issue and he would like to leave riser alone for now since it is not leaking. After replacing the 4 risers, drop tested system and it held a 14” w.c. for 15 in verifying the system is leak free. Re-lit pilot to heater and lit kitchen cooktop.

Estimate to change cartridge. Due to condition of shower valve (corrosion) I recommend replacing shower valve. I will attempt to take out cartridge before replacing valve.

Client has low pressure/volume to kitchen faucet on hot side, removed supply from hot side valve and found low pressure at stop. Client previously had a slab leak on the hot side to kitchen and line was repaired by sleeving 3/8” PEX and it’s believed the line is plugged with debris. In order to avoid openings walls and ceilings to run a new line we elected to install a tankless water heater under kitchen sink and connect to cold water supply. Client had electrician run the required power supply from the panel just outside kitchen. Also client purchased a new dishwasher that needs to be installed. After installing new tankless water heater and dishwasher, tested and client now has adequate pressure/volume for both hot and cold sides at kitchen sink and new dishwasher operating correctly.
